Located in a strip mall along the same road the original missionaries built (El Camino Real), the Italian tastes of Borrelli’s and the sleepy surf town of Encinitas go together like pasta and sauce. From the street, this Italian eatery may appear like any other restaurant, but inside, the simple decor makes you feel at home. Guests can dine at more private tables and chairs, or they can enjoy a more bistro-like atmosphere at tables set along the banquette. Appetizers like calamari rings, salads like Antipasto, and traditional dishes like lasagna and spaghetti are the staples on the menu, but they also serve Mostaccioli, various hoagies, and more. -Erick Pettersen
Within this café of beach style décor and local art, patrons can sit and talk amongst themselves, or eat alone at a lunch counter in a dining area with beige and greenish decor. Wherever they sit, guests can look out through large windows that allow the sun to shine into the café. Naked Café’s menus includes dishes like the Rising Sun Burrito (scrambled eggs, cheese, scallions, and tomatoes), Artichoke Scramble (eggs, artichoke hearts, cheese, green onions, and tomatoes), Dual Delight (sesame ginger beef and chicken, brown rice, summer veggies, and Thai peanut sauce) and more. They also offer soups, salads, and sandwiches, as well as a variety of side dishes and beverage to go along with any meal. - Erick Pettersen
