A beautiful stretch of beach surrounded by overhead bluffs, the Cowell Ranch State Beach is not merely known for its sandy environs and waves. There are exhibits that showcase the military brilliance of the city when camels were put into usage as pack animals in the 19th Century. Spread over 22 acres (8.90 hectares), the municipal park features several facilities like trails, playgrounds, tennis courts and a ball field. Important sites such as the Jennings Pavillion, Watkins House and Main House are a part of the Holbrook - Palmer Park. These structures are available on private hire for socio-cultural events such as meetings, weddings and anniversaries. The historic Water Tower and the Carriage House - both over 120 years old, still remain a part of this park, adding to Holbrook-Palmer Park's allure.
