Set in the northern end of the Santa Cruz Mountain range, Montara Mountain offers breathtaking views of the North Pacific Ocean, San Francisco Bay Area, San Pedro Creek and Denniston Creek. Some of the scenic hiking routes that lead to the summit are Montara Mountain Trail, Old Pedro Mountain Road, Gray Whale Cove Trail and North Peak Access Road. Explore the area’s flora and fauna and stop at various lookout points that are located along these routes.
This tranquil stretch of sand at the Bolinas Lagoon is blessed with a fantastic location that makes it a haven for surfers and bodyboarders. Despite the pristine location, Bolinas Beach has largely remained a local delight as the townsfolk, in an attempt to keep it hidden, frequently take down direction signs. Nevertheless, this is one of the more scenic beaches in the region with the added benefit of being a leash-free expanse for dogs.
This estuary, separated from the Bolinas Bay by Stinson Beach and the coastal community of Bolinas is a protected wetland supporting a diverse array of waterfowl and marine life. The estuary spans 1100 acres (445 hectares) and is a well-known bird-watching destination during the migratory season.
This coastal park, centered around the Agate Beach, features an atypical rocky terrain instead of the usual sandy stretch that you'd expect from a beach. Nevertheless, this rugged landscape is worth exploring, not just for its spectacular scenery, but also its beautiful tidal pools that reveal themselves during low tides. The adjoining Duxbury Reef is regarded as the largest soft shale reef in the state and is not to be missed.

Featuring a baseball field, a basketball court, a tennis court, a soccer field, and a playground, the park offers a number of activities for all ages. The park also has a picnic tables, making it a perfect spot for a family day out.
