Estadio Víctor Jara is a multi purpose sports complex, which also plays host to music festivals and concerts. Formerly known as Estadio Chile, it was renamed after the Chilean folk singer and activist Victor Jara who was tortured to death in 1973 in the infamous Chilean coup. The complex is conveniently located near to the Central Station, and can comfortably seat up to 4500 people. Even till this date, concert goers can feel an eerie, palpable sense of history in this emblematic venue.
