"Lost City"

Once a powerful city that was founded by the Phoenicians and then the seat of the Romans, Nora is now just a remnant atop Capo di Pula. The azure Mediterranean Sea forms a stunning backdrop and foreground as it envelops the cape. Nora was a successful seafaring town and was the first town to be established in the island. It was abandoned following raids by the Arabs in the 8th Century. A major part of this ancient city is now under the sea as it lies in the southern section of Sardinia which is underwater. You can see some ruins such as the Torre del Coltellazzo, a baths complex and Roman theater during a guided tour here. There are diving tours available as well to see certain parts of this ancient city.
