"Financial Square"

Johnson Square was named after Governor Robert Johnson, who was an aide to the early settlers of Savannah. Laid out in 1733, the first 40 houses in Savannah were built here. It was the first of Savannah’s 24 squares and remains the largest. Landmarks include two fountains, a sundial, and the Johnson Square Business Center. Known as the financial district, many of the city’s major companies are located here.
