Take in the beauty of the Low Country while astride a weight-shift controlled hang glider. Amphibian Air is Savannah's premier peddler of this exciting adventure and features crafts known as amphibious trikes. These contraptions are FAA certified and are ultra-lightweight and weight shift controlled. You'll start off on the water from which you'll take off, flying low and slow above the water. You will fly with an FAA-certified instructor who will teach you the basics of flying an amphibious trike and, if you feel up to it, will allow you to take over the controls for a portion of your flight. After your session, you will be given a certificate recording your training which you can use towards getting your sports pilot license.

The 588-acre (237 hectares) Skidaway Island State Park is a barrier island and a perfect day-trip for the Savannah visitor wanting to get to know the natural ecology of coastal Georgia. Facilities at the park include a museum, picnic shelters, a playground and observation towers. Tent, trailer, and RV sites are available for overnight camping. Scenic nature trails provide visitors a chance to view the spectacular environment and watch for wildlife, especially shore birds. The park is also a popular wedding destination.

Want to see Savannah from a different view? Take a cruise on the Savannah River Queen, a replica 19th century stern-wheel riverboat. Daily one-hour sightseeing cruises are offered from River Street. Lunch, Sunday brunch, and dinner cruises are offered nightly. Some evening cruises have special themes, such as the gospel cruise that features live music, or the murder mystery cruise. The boat is also available for group events. No reservations are needed for the sightseeing cruise.
