"A Historic Masterpiece"

Linking the Magnolia and Queen Anne neighborhoods with Ballard, this magnificent double-leaf bascule bridge was built in 1917. Measuring a total length of 2854 feet (869 meters) with an opening span of 218 feet (66 meters), this historical structure is the fourth and the last of the Lake Washington Ship Canal Bridges to be passed before entering Puget Sound from Lake Washington. The Ballard Bridge was included in the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.
