Schwaltenweiher

Schwalteneriher lake was used by the Holy Roman Emperor Maximilian I for the purpose of hunting waterfowl and fishing farming. It lies at the foothills of the Alps, in Ostallgau. After the defeat of his family in the Thirty Years’ War, the reservoir’s possession changed hands often, and it continued to remain a private property. Located between the Seeg and Ruchholz towns, the lake has two islands that visitors can row to, and its activities include swimming and beach volleyball. There are also a few fishing spots for those who want to try their luck with the rod. Moreover, restaurants right at the lake's edge provides refreshing food and drink for tourists who are peckish after a great swim.
