One of the largest manufacturers of teddy bears in the world, the Vermont Teddy Bear Company is a fascinating attraction in Shelburne. Established in 1983 by John Sortino, the iconic company is known to produce almost 500,000 of these cuddly toys every year. When in town, stop by at the factory to take a tour where you can personally witness how these toys are designed, handcrafted, packaged and shipped. Interestingly and much to the delight of the little ones, the factory is also home to a Bear Hospital where a friendly doctor will treat and fix their teddy bears. Surrounded by lush green lawns and family-friendly picnic tables, Vermont Teddy Bear is a must-visit destination for families.
