This aquarium is one of the biggest in the country. Here you will find beautiful displays dedicated to freshwater and sea inhabitants. Among the creatures on view are sharks, piranhas, seahorses, koi, and gourami.
This water park is situated on Mayak (Lighthouse) Beach, close to the Festivalny concert hall. It boasts a variety of slides for children and grown-ups. There is a lot of fun to be had at the beach as well, as Mayak rents out scooters and hydrocycles. The water park is open from mid-May to October. If you are really into Russian literature, the Ostrovsky museum is a must-visit. Part of this museum is dedicated to the life of Nikolai Ostrovky, a famed socialist realist writer who wrote one of the quintessential literary works of the Soviet period, the novel "How the Steel was Tempered." The street the museum is on is named after the novel's protagonist, Pavel Korchagin. Another part of the museum tells the story of Sochi's literary life. Valeriya Vladimirovna Barsova (1892-1967) was an esteemed opera singer who sang at the Bolshoi. From 1947 to 1967, she spent a few months every year at her dacha (summer house) in Sochi, which in 1988 was converted into a museum. If you are interested in Russian and Soviet cultural life, do not hesitate to visit it. The museum also holds art exhibitions and intimate concerts. As for the location, the institution is situated close to Frunze Park and the Arboretum.
The Khosta District History Museum is located in a historic building, which used to be a People's House, a venue for entertainment and culture. Its walls have seen performances by notable cultural figures such as singer Fyodor Shalyapin, pianist Sergei Rachmaninoff, poet Vladimir Mayakovsky, and actress Lyubov Orlova. Established in 1995, the museum is dedicated to the city's history as a holiday resort destination.
