Located on Stockton Street, the Drumthwacket Estate is the official home of the governor. The building was built in the 19th century and is the base for the Drumthwacket Foundation as well as a museum showcasing old artifacts.

The Wallace House is a historic structure built in 1778. Spread over an area of 1.5 acre (0.61 hectare), it is constructed in the Georgian style of architecture. The house is a landmark structure in history since it was used as the headquarters of George Washington from 1778 to 1779. Owing to its historic significance, it became a part of the National Register of Historic Places in 1970.
The Old Cemetery is a historic landmark in Somerville. It was founded in 1804 and features on the National Register of Historic Places. The grounds are replete with manicured lawns, memorial stones, and a monument as well.
An 18th century historic home, the Van Veghten House now houses the Library of New Jersey and Somerset County. The home features a brick facade and Dutch vernacular architecture particular to the period. The house is especially noteworthy in that it housed Quartermaster Gen. Nathaniel Green during the American Revolution who used it as his base between 1778-79.
