This historic parsonage, known as the Old Baptist Parsonage, was one of the first stone structures to be built in Essex County. Its wood frame was added later on, and adds to its beauty. It also includes the Scotch Plains Baptist Church and cemetery. Built in 1786, it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The Old Cemetery is a historic landmark in Somerville. It was founded in 1804 and features on the National Register of Historic Places. The grounds are replete with manicured lawns, memorial stones, and a monument as well.
Popularly known as the Lakeview, the Buckelew Mansion is a historic home. Began as a single room home and now expanded and consisting of 23 rooms today, this mansion was built in order to accommodate the big family of the owner. There was a floor added later to this mansion. The beautiful garden was absolutely stunning in front of the garden.
The Village Inn is a historic structure that dates back to 1726. In the Battle of Monmouth, American Army headquarters were shifted to Englishtown and the Village Inn was built as headquarters to serve General Charles Lee who was leading the soldiers. It is at this place where the documents pertaining to court martial of General Lee owing to misconduct during the war were drawn. Later, the inn was transformed in to a resting place which served excellent food to the travellers. The Village Inn was included in the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.
Ward's Point Conservation Area is an archaeological site where the American Indians settled in the pre-historic era. Included in the National Register of Historic Places, the Ward's Point Conservation Area provides an insight in to the Indian settlement on Staten Island.
