The Artillery Company of Newport is a ceremonial unit and museum of the Rhode Island Militia and Historic Military Commands. The unit provides honor guards and canon salutes for private and public veterans events and official local and state ceremonies. A museum of military uniforms and memorabilia is located at 23 Clark Street. This collection, one of the most extensive in the country, includes uniforms worn by His Royal Highness Prince Phillip and Lord Louis Mountbatten, both of Great Britain. Guided and self-guided tours are available. Admission is by donation.

The International Tennis Hall of Fame is truly a shrine to the sport, given its history and the well-preserved exhibits of immense significance. Found at Newport Casino, located on beautiful Bellevue Avenue amongst shops and eateries, the site is a perfect place to stop by and admire the lush, grassy tennis courts and the International Tennis Hall of Fame Museum, commemorating tennis pros from past and present.
Chepstow is a black-shuttered Newport mansion designed after an Italian villa. You will find the 19th-century collections of art, paintings, furnishings and documents of the Newport Morris family indicative of Newport mansion owners and the wealth of the times. A spiral self-supported staircase, tiled floors and white stucco brings you back to days of leisure living in informal elegance of a Newport cottage. The Newport Preservation Society conducts tours of Chepstow with advance reservations.

Owned and managed by the Denison family since it was first built, the Denison Homestead is a charming manor. Constructed in 1717, the Pequotsepos Manor as it is colloquially known, is a well-preserved historical landmark today and houses precious relics. Every nook and corner of the estate exudes an undeniable historical charm and its picturesque gardens are a marvel to behold. Delighting history buffs and outdoor lovers alike, and surrounded by beautiful environs, the homestead is a must-visit during a trip to Mystic. Tours of the estate are available, and events can also be hosted within the premises.
This tribal-owned and operated museum is housed in a striking building designed by famed architect James Stewart Polshek. Permanent and temporary exhibits focus on 300 years of Native American artistry and history. Don't miss the replica of an ancient Pequot village, replete with life-sized models and sound effects. The gift shop carries splendors from all Native American tribes. Expect at least an hour drive from New Haven and call the toll free number or check the Web site for directions. There is a shuttle to the museum from the Foxwoods Casino.
Barrington Preservation Society was inaugurated in 1885 and aims at portraying the history of the town of Barrington. They collect, organize and present documents, collectibles and other data which portrays the rich history and culture of the town. The museum has on display various photographs and official documents dating back to as far 1700's which describes the life and development the town underwent over the ages.
The Coast Guard Foundation was founded in the year 1969, and since then, this non profit organization has been providing support to all men and women of the United States Coast guards and their families. The foundation has a rich history with tales of devotion, bravery and patriotism. A must visit for all locals and tourists and get inspired by the legacy of the service.
Built during the latter years of the 18th century, Main Sawmill is one of Ledyard's most popular attractions, which was once extensively used by its original owner Nathaniel Brown II. The mill is located within an estate that covers 11.6 acres (4.7 hectares), covering the mill under a canopy of trees. The property was acquired by a group of local volunteers, who restored the mill to its former glory, opening it to the public in 1975.
Set in a picturesque location, Dutch Island Lighthouse sits secluded on a remote Island. The historic structure set on the southern end of Dutch Island, originally built in 1826, went under renovation within a few years; the current edifice paired up with the keeper’s house was built in 1857. The towering structure is 42 feet (13 meters) tall brick construction, widely used to navigate ships and ferries. Added to the National Register of Historic District, the lighthouse is not open for visitors. The best way to get a glimpse of the historic structure is via boat ride.

While on a stroll, important attractions such as the old town hall, the city library, a historic Railway station, and an old post office can be found in these busy streets of the city.
