"Spokane's Main River"

A major tributary of the capacious Colombia River, the Spokane River origins at Lake Coeur d'Alene, flows across the states of Washington and Idaho, and finally comes to a stop at the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Lake. This journey stretches 178 kilometers (111 miles) across the dams of Post Falls, Little Falls, Upriver, Upper Falls and Monroe Street along with a natural 40-foot (12.19 meters) waterfall that was extensively used to power Spokane's bustling milling industry that flourished during the latter stages of the 1800s.
