Alexander Pushkin Dacha

"Old Russian home"

This beautiful country home was once an old, almost run-down cottage, and the famous Russian poet, Alexander Pushkin stayed here. The poet lived a lifestyle that would be considered bohemian by Russian traditionalists, but his writing was extremely popular. For USD1.70, you can browse through his personal effects, admire elaborately carved furniture, ornate family portraits and the very sofa he lay on while composing his works. The house is beautifully restored and is a stone's throw away from the well-known Tzarskoje Selo Estate, next to the Pushkin Country House Museum.
