Akalla metro station

by Allgau

"Underground Metro Station"

The Akalla Metro Station is part of the Stockholm metro network. Owned by the Storstockholms Lokaltrafik, it is an underground station which first opened in 1977. Unlike other stations, it has a special art project devised by artist Birgit Ståhl-Nyberg in 1977. A rough surfaced grotto in the station is decorated with ceramic pictures of humans going through day to day life.
