Edsberg Castle

An elegant two-storeyed mansion, the Edsberg Castle is the perfect example of a simple French rococo style popular in the 18th Century. While originally constructed of wood in 1630, the year 1760 saw a complete over haul and the structure you see today was completed with two floors and protruding wings lending it a symmetrical and aesthetically appealing look. The castle was privately owned by the Rudbeck family for over 200 years until in 1959 when it was bought by the Sollentuna Municipality. Within the castle are housed the Edsvik Konsthall and several restaurants, cafes and eateries, perfect to relax over a glass of wine or a cup of coffee in a serene, beautiful setting or stimulate your senses with contemporary art, musical events or gourmet gastronomy.
