Church of St Mary Magdalene

"The Sister Effect"

St Mary Magdalene Church in Somerset is a beautiful 13th century parish seated on a slightly raised area of land. With it's gorgeous surroundings and shiny Ham stone exteriors, the structure makes an ideal image for a painting. There are a number of folklore attached to this church, one of them speaks of this church and the other St Mary's Church in the same village to be sister churches. Story goes that both the sisters fell in love with a vicar and each built him a church to express this. The St Mary Magdalene Church at present is a well maintained structure which was termed a Grade I listed building in February 1958.
