La Vieille Tour

If you are strolling along the paved streets of Petite France and the branches of the Ill river in this very pretty, almost rural setting, stop off at la Vieille Tour, a quiet, comfortable restaurant decorated in pale salmon, yellow and ochre. There is no menu as the dishes served to depend on the seasonal availability of certain products, but you will often find oysters (huîtres papillon), home-made goose foie gras (marbré de foie d'oie maison), home-made smoked salmon (marbré de saumon fumé), quenelles de brochets aux morilles, andouillettes aux lentilles vertes and so on. The choice of wines is as superb as the food and even the coffee is international (Brazilian, Colombian, Ethiopian or Kenyan). The restaurant has a set menu available too for the customers.
