"Flowing History"
Historical tales flow through the River Teme. The magnificent river flows through Mid Wales, Powys, Knighton, Shropshire, et al. A designated Site of Special Scientific Interest, the river got its name from the Brythonic term Tamesa which means ‘the dark one’. With an elevation of 506 meters (1,660 feet), Teme is the 16th largest river of United Kingdom. The swelling river was the reason of the 2007 floods in Leintwardine, Ludlow and Tenbury Wells. The clean waters of the river provide shelter to a brimming population of otters. River Teme is a fisher’s paradise with many spots on the river supporting recreational fishing. The river is also a popular destination of leisure boating.
