House of Refuge

This museum located on Hutchinson Island is inside of one ten original refuge houses meant to provide aid to those who found themselves stranded along the long Atlantic Florida coast. Built in 1876, this structure is the only one that remains from the original ten. The house itself has been renovated over the years and after the rest of the houses were rendered obsolete it served as a coast guard station, a lookout point during WWII, then a turtle sanctuary and today it's a museum that highlights the region as well as the arduous lives of the 'keepers' on Gilbert's Bar.

Capt Sl8r Charters

Captain Sl8r provides dive charters for anyone who wishes to see the underwater marvels in the Atlantic Ocean. Some of the dive sites have names like 'Monkey's Ledge', 'Captain Kurls', 'Area 51' and 'Scarface'. At Monkey's Ledge, divers can see sharks, eels and sting-rays at Area 51 and Scarface presents the famous Green Moray Eel. Their 'Kyalami' dive/cruise is one of their most popular and if you choose to go out and venture yourself on your own charter, the Captain provides tank rentals as well.

Jupiter Outdoor Center

The Jupiter Outdoor Center offers everything outdoor-related: adventure tours, kayak rental and stand-up paddleboarding to name a few activities. Not only can you rent watergear, but some of the sights that can be visited is a veritable tourist guide to Jupiter Inlet, as the Blowing Rocks Nature Preserve, the Jupiter Lighthouse and Sawfish Bay are right nearby. Some of the other activities include snorkeling, fishing and kids' summer camps.

DuBois Park

Jupiter's beautiful DuBois Park is a good place for the nature lover to spend the day. Its abundance of sideways-walking hermit crabs will thrill any child, and the water in the lagoon is so shallow you could bring a chair and literally sit inside it. The beach area is small, but it is guarded during the winter and on weekends. The DuBois Pioneer Home and the Indian Mound archaeological site are also located on this property as well.

Downtown Abacoa

Downtown Abacoa or more colloquially, Abacoa Town Center, is the entertainment hub of the area. This revitalized zone brims with cultural activities such as the yearly Fiesta Maya and many more. Designed like a classic European main street of yore, the relaxed vibe of this entire place is really appealing. Stroll the wide, beautiful pathways leading to a central fountain and then to the storefronts, galleries and restaurants. Idle away people watching, shopping or dinning at this popular local haunt.

Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse & Museum

This maritime relic designed and built by George Gordon Meade in 1860 is one of the oldest lighthouses in Florida as well as holding the title as the oldest existing structure in Palm Beach County. It was only illuminated for a couple of years before the confederate army extinguished its light during the Civil War, but when the war was over, it was re-lit and has been guiding ships along the shore to this day. Bring your camera to capture the 156-foot red beauty, standing tall on the Jupiter coast.
