The National Showcaves Centre for Wales

This is the largest set of show caves in Western Europe. It's a fascinating geological tour of fairy tale features: alabaster pillars, frozen waterfalls, natural bridges, underground lakes and a cathedral scale cavern. Stalagmites, stalactites and helectites form daggers, wolfs' heads and other weird and wonderful forms. There are reconstructions of early cave dwellers and of the cave's first explorers. If that wasn't enough to delight, outside there's a huge dinosaur park with life size models, a reconstructed iron age village, a traditional farm with all its animals and a newly built stone circle. The site deserves a full day of exploration.
