Salzkirche/Elisabethkapelle was built in the 15th Century to an adjoining hospital. This hospice was ravaged by fire in 1617 and only the chapel remained. From the 17th to the 19th Centuries it was used as a salt warehouse, hence its name Salzkirche. It was bought by the Catholic Church and was a house of worship for some time. It underwent an extensive restoration for five years from 1992 to 1992. This historic brick edifice now hosts concerts and exhibitions.
