Peche Island

Peche Island is an uninhabited island, obtained by The City of Windsor in 1999. The natural park is home to many walking trails and can be reached through a boat. Tours are run on regular intervals, ferry rides give a beautiful view of The Detroit City and it is always fun exploring the various local flora and fauna of the region.

The Canadian Historical Aircraft Association

Founded in 1995, The Canadian Historical Aircraft Association is located in the west end of the city and is dedicated to preserving aircraft that have been significant contributors to aviation history. Not only is the museum home to a Lancaster Bomber, but one can also find a restored Havilland DH.98 Mosquito which was one of the first Canadian-built Mosquito bombers to be introduced in World War II. Other aircraft at the museum include Boeing Stearman and De Havilland Chipmunk. If you are an aircraft or war history enthusiast, visiting the Canadian Historical Aircraft Association will certainly not disappoint.

Detroit RiverFront

This promenade in Downtown Detroit runs along the Detroit River from the Joe Louis Arena to Rivard Plaza. The RiverWalk is a popular destination for various activities including walking, jogging, and rollerblading. The RiverWalk passes through and by a number of area landmarks, including the Tri-Centennial State Park Lighthouse, the Detroit River and Hart Plaza with its Underground Railroad Memorial. It's a great destination for the whole family, and even includes a spouting fountain for kids and people of all ages to play in on a hot day.

Matthaei Botanical Gardens & Nichols Arboretum

Located at the University of Michigan, the Matthaei Botanical Gardens & Nichols Arboretum is gorgeous! The botanical gardens feature many different sections including a bonsai collection, children's garden, herb garden, rock garden and labyrinth. The gardens also feature typical flora of different ecosystems like the prairie or woodlands. On the grounds, there is also a historic farmhouse that dates to the 1860s, that guests can visit and learn about. Have fun exploring the many trails through the majestic trees, parries, and gardens.

Gallup Park

Gallup Park is one of the major recreational areas in Ann Arbor. Spread on an area of 69 acres (27.9233 hectares), it provides ample space for enjoying a picnic or party. The asphalt trails that are 3 miles (4 kilometers) long are used as tracks for biking, rollerblading and other such activities. The two drinking fountains and benches are for people who want to relax and unwind. The scenic Geddes Pond adds to the charm of this place. But that's not all, you can always enjoy canoeing and kayaking on the Huron River.

Comerica Park

One of the many spirited attractions in downtown Detroit, Comerica Park is an extensive verdant field which has been a host to some iconic sporting events and concerts in the past. Named after the bank whose funds made its creation possible, Comerica Park overlooks some of the soaring high-rises residing in the city's downtown. Home ground of the Detroit Tigers, this sprawling ballpark is anything but a run-of-the-mill, neighborhood stadium. Strewn across its course are glorious tiger statues, a baseball-themed Ferris wheel, and the enormous Chevrolet Fountain. Hence, Comerica Park harbors a lively, further amplified by enthusiastic cheers and celebrations when the Tigers hit a home run. The ballpark is also home to the Big Cat Court, which offers a wealth of delectable foods like pretzels, deli sandwiches, French fries, Chicago-style hot dogs and more.
