Maialino

Sunlight pours in the large windows at Danny Meyer's Maialino, a friendly Roman-style trattoria that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner in order to vie for a spot in your heart. The blue checkered tablecloths, tile floors and rustic wood furnishings set a comfortable ambiance for casual and business gatherings alike. If the restaurant's name, which is Italian for "piglet," isn't enough to convince you to order something with pork, then the enticing cured meats hanging behind the salumi bar and the savory smell of the roasted suckling pig definitely will. True to Chef Nick Anderer's dedication to authenticity, the pasta served at Maialino is handmade and lightly sauced, and all parts of the animal, including the offal, are used in the dishes. The bar is open until midnight. Reservations are highly recommended.

The Standard Biergarten

Located within the The Standard, High Line, this classic, bustling Biergarten packs in a solid punch when it comes to German beers and food. The interiors are handsomely decorated with exposed brick walls and candle-lit lanterns providing much of the charm the bar exudes. But the real draw and the bar's namesake is the outdoor seating area for people who prefer an airier setting with a bonus of great city views. You can catch a game on one of their screens or play ping-pong to unwind in the middle of rounds of your favorite drinks.

Koi concocts an amazing range of sauces and attempts to blend the fiery and sweet flavors. Their crispy rice with spicy tuna, dragon roll, poached halibut, steamed Chilean sea bass, roasted shishito and coconut rice pudding are worth a try. The varied mojitos and martinis set the mood in this trendy restaurant.

The View Restaurant & Lounge

The View is New York's only revolving rooftop restaurant. Munch over your food and enjoy a breathtaking 360-degree view from the heart of the Times Square Theater District. The New American cuisine that changes seasonally includes top quality steaks, chops and seafood. Try out a bottle of Finger Lakes Riesling or North Fork Cabernet franc from Kevin Zraly's award winning wine list. The Sunday Special brunch is a chocolate fountain designed for dipping berries, marshmallows and pretzels. It is a great place to spend some time with a few friends after a long day.

Monkey Bar

This suave and sophisticated cocktail bar and restaurant has been around for a long time, but it exudes a depth of energy not found in newer lounges nearby. The crowd that visits this eatery in the Hotel Elysee is upscale, businesslike and very chic. The venue's contemporary fare is decent, though a tad expensive - enjoy it either in the dining lounge or the front bar area. Celebrities frequent Monkey Bar often so keep your eyes peeled; unfortunately, photo taking is banned in the dining area so you'll just have to commit your experience to memory.
