Earlier known as the Dargun Abbey, the Dargun Castle was first established in the 12th Century as a Cistercian monastery. Located in the Dargun village of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, the building was converted into a palace by the Grand Duchy of Mecklenburg-Schwerin. The brick monastery was established in the 14th Century with a church built in the Gothic style. The palace was burnt down but was again rebuilt in the 17th Century and today houses a small public library along with an information bureau.
Possibly created by the monks of the Dargun Monastery in the 14th century, Klostersee is a lake situated west of Dargun in Germany. It is about 1,350 meters (0.83 miles) long and 180 meters (0.11 mile) wide occupying an area of 25 hectares (61.77 acres). It is a popular destination among locals and tourists alike who come here for hiking, boating, and fishing.

Guided tours of the premises are available to visitors for prices as low as three euros, making it a must visit for history and architecture enthusiasts!
Covering an area of 3.64 square kilometers (1.40 square miles), the Dobbertiner See is one of the best water bodies in the Sternberger Seenlandschaft region. In the vicinity of the lake is an abbey of the same name and a beautiful park that is often frequented by travelers and locals. The lake also has organized cruises for a select few motor boats. Besides, the lake is known for several water-sport activities like canoeing. Drehbrücke Malchow connects the old town of an island in Malchower See to districts on the western bank of the lake. It is the only hydraulic structure in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania to be operated and maintained by a municipality. From its original wooden structure in the 19th century to the pylon rotating bridge in the present day, it has served as a major connecting source for inhabitants on Malchow Island. During the summer, the bridge opens every full hour and that attracts a lot of curious onlookers.
Located in the lakeside city of Waren, Müritzeum is a place of exotic wonder and discovery which also serves as the information center for nearby Müritz National Park. Landschulmuseum is the country school museum in Göldenitz which takes visitors on a walk down time by showing them how life was in the village as early as 1900. A number of permanent exhibitions have caught the attention of other museums in surrounding towns too. Numerous workshops and short courses are held for school children at this vibrant and colorful venue.
One of the most striking buildings in the city, the Evangelische Kirchengemeinde Sankt Bartholomaei probably dates back to the 12th Century. Earlier the seat of Bishop Otto of Bamberg, the church was converted into a protestant church post reformation, in the 16th Century. The church structure features a mix of Neo-Gothic and baroque designs. The church tower is one of the most notable features of the building and was built in the 19th Century.
The Stadtmuseum, Gustrow is an important cultural institution that focuses on the historical and cultural importance of Gustrow and it's development through the Middle Ages to the 19th Century. It also houses a beautiful collection of German expressionist work within it's walls. Rederangsee, located in the Mecklenburg Lake District, is a lake whose waters are situated within the Müritz National Parks protection Zone I which is known for its population of birds and other flora and fauna. The area that surrounds this lake is marsh lands and towards the Northern shoreline of the lake lie the Federower thickets. Other places nearby include Müritzhof.

Duckwitzer See is nestled in the village of Duckwitz. The shoreline of the lake is filled with reed on all three sides but its north end is open for swimming. The bathing area is situated near the township of Lühburg. Fishing is permitted if you have license for it.
