Sumo wrestling is Japan's most famous sport. On display at this museum are ceremonial aprons called kesho-mawashi, sumo costumes, referees' lacquered paddles, and examples of the calligraphy of famous wrestlers. Wood-block prints, hair cuttings and sumo dolls give a historical overview to this unique sport. This museum is located beside the National Sumo Stadium.
