Blue Note Tokyo
As the premier jazz venue in Tokyo, the Blue Note is the place to hear some of the world's greatest jazz musicians. Tied in with other clubs in such cities as New York and Milan, Blue Note is able to attract such names as Natalie Cole, Oscar Peterson and Taj Mahal. Arrive early for dinner and enjoy a wide ranging menu offering everything from steaks to seafood. Body and Soul
Jazz lovers only need apply - Body and Soul plays jazz, and only the best jazz and has done so ever since its modest inception in 1974. Many excellent local jazz musicians play here, as well as international stars; Eddie Gomez frequents Body and Soul as do a host of others. It isn't a cheap night out, especially as the admission fee alone can be up to JPY10000, but for jazz fans, it's a must-visit!
Fireking Cafe
Fireking Cafe sits in the fashionable neighborhood of Yoyogi-Uehara, a haven of arty, fashionable types. The interior is classy and elegant, and in the dimly lit room people sit and drink lattes on comfy sofas. In the evening, the after-work crowd comes in to savor ingeniously concocted cocktails from an extensive list. Mojitos are popular but be sure to peruse the menu for other delectable options, including an array of fusion bites cooked to perfection. The artwork on the walls changes seasonally and exhibitions are frequently held here.
Favela
The World Cup was the catalyst for this beautiful lounge, which was opened in 2002 during the World Cup. Brazil won that year - and at Favela, with warm bossa nova music stirring up its guests, it was the perfect place to celebrate. Since then, it has remained extremely popular and here, you can listen to vibrant music whilst eating excellent Brazilian based cuisine and drinking specially created cocktails, made by Assh (who was the winner of the 2006 World Cocktails Championship).
