With fresh homemade cakes and desserts, as well as fresh bagels, Double Tall makes a popular stop among regulars. The variety of specialty goods even extends to a decent selection of popular Japanese micro brewed beers. While you are here for a morning cup of hot coffee, their latte foam art will surely make your day!

Bashamichi Taproom

A must for beer lovers, Bashamichi Taproom is one of several outlets for Baird Beer, a small brewery dedicated to making flavorsome beers using traditional malted barley, whole flower hops and soft Numazu water. The three-story Taproom has a long bar on the ground floor, a large room with bar and table seating on the second floor and a rooftop beer garden. The range of beers on tap include brown ale, pale ale, IPAs, a lager, a stout, and amber ale, as well as seasonal choices and a guest ale. The food menu offers authentic American style BBQ with beef, pork and chicken. There is also pizza, salad, macaroni cheese and Texas chili. A big-screen TV and regular music events help to create an inviting atmosphere. -AH

Pompompurin Cafe

Pompompurin Cafe is a theme restaurant, with a quirky interior palette of its own. Based on Pompompurin (the famed Sanrio character), every dish on their menu includes either a cutlery or an edible piece of the cartoon. The cafe gets together in one plate, many cuisines of the world, and so there's pasta, noodles, rice, beef puddings, tacos and eggs, and all of them look so adorable! There are also sweets that look amazing with all the colours and shapes. The ambience is cheerful, thanks to the theme, and the service is nice. Pompompurin Cafe can be visited for some out-of-the-box binging.

T.Y. Harbor Brewery

T.Y. Harbor Brewery does a great job with the beers that are brewed on location. A good offering of ales; amber, pale, wheat and stout; these beers are on tap daily and should be sampled. With local Japanese beer and conventional brews as well, beer lovers of any persuasion will be satisfied by the variety and solid flavors on offer here. Scrumptious American delicacies are perfect accompaniments to the brews. There is also a patio overlooking the canal and is a perfect spot to soak in some sun while sipping on cold beer in spring and summer.

L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon

Chef Joel Robuchon's name is synonymous with fine French cuisine, making his restaurants some of the most famous in the world. In fact, in 1990 he was voted Chef of the Century, and in 1994 his restaurant in Paris was voted Best in the World. Needless to say, dining at a Robuchon restaurant is a very special experience. Joel Robuchon now also has several ateliers (workshops), the Tokyo branch of which opened in 2003. Instead of the setup of a traditional restaurant, with tables evenly spread out, most of the diners at this unique venue are seated at a large bar that surrounds the kitchen, where they can watch the chefs prepare dishes right in front of them. The food is contemporary French and can safely be said to be both very delicious and very expensive. The menu is seasonal and changes daily, and reservations are highly recommended, though sometimes a few seats are saved just for walk-ins.
