Museum of Dalmation and Istrian Civilization
"Museum Dedicated to Istrian Exile Testimonies"
The Museum of Istrian and Dalmatian Civilization was opened in the center of Trieste, thanks to the collaboration of the I.R.C.I. and the Trieste municipality. The museum has been created in remembrance of the exodus of these populations. Inside you will find a lot of objects belonging to the exiled people, such as the masserizie, photographs, written testimonies and documents. History lives on through the mundane traces left on both material things and souls; such is the importance of a museum which gathers the memories of a hard and tragic part of local history. Visiting the Museum of Istrian and Dalmatian Civilization in Trieste means to learn about its local peoples and to have a direct contact with the imagines, books and historical archives.
