The grandiose and stunning beauty of the Museo Nacional de Escultura begins as soon as you set eyes on the building in which it is housed. It calls the Palacio de Villena it's home, which is a masterpiece from the 18th Century. Inside, there are sculptures on display whose creators are some of Spain's most well-known and loved, like the Baroque artists Juan de Jini, Alonso Berruguete and Gregorio Fernandez. The sculptures, carved in varying materials like clay, wood, stone and even ivory, all journey through the varying phases of religious depictions that Spanish art went through. The museum also rents out its space for events like conferences or other events.
