Dry Fork Canyon Rock Art/ McConkie Ranch

Dry Fork Canyon offers visitors a unique opportunity to get within touching distance of some of the most fascinating remnants of Native American culture that flourished in this region between 1-1200 AD. Ponder the explainable as you walk along the sandstone cliffs covered in hundreds of petroglyphs and pictographs carved by ancient hands over a thousand years ago. From the easily identifiable figures of animals, bird and humans to the strangely carved geometric shapes and figures. Marked trails are available on the property to follow up the cliffs. They can be difficult to navigate, so those who cannot climb up can still appreciate the figures from a distance as some are over 9 feet tall. The rock art is located on private property, but the trails are open to the public and visitors must follow the posted signs and instructions. For additional details, visit the website.
