Galgberget Gallows is a grim remnant of the brutality of public execution during the Medieval times. Perched on a hilltop, these 13th-century gallows comprise of three stone pillars with wooden beams is enclosed in low oblong stone wall. This execution site was used to hang criminals with ropes and hooks. Even those at sea could see the execution from its strategic location. An archaeological dig in 2008 revealed skeletal remains of 30 people who were executed. This cliff edge site is considered to be among the finest examples of a restored Middle Ages execution ground.
