"The Two-tower Facade"
The imposing twin towered Baroque- Holy Cross Church was severely damaged during the Warsaw Uprising when two weeks of fighting took place in the church itself. The church was seriously damaged but some Baroque altarpieces still remain. It is particularly close to Polish hearts, as there is an epitaph on the left-hand side of the nave dedicated to Frederick Chopin and marking the spot where, according to his wishes, his heart was buried.
