Waxahachie

The seat of Ellis County, the city of Waxahachie is also one of Dallas' southern suburbs. Famous as the birthplace of the American West's oldest cowboy, Tom Blasingame, this city is where the Superconducting Super Collider was supposed to have been constructed. However, what Waxahachie is perhaps best known for is the Scarborough Renaissance Festival, which is held from the beginning of April till Memorial Day Monday. Musical performances, jousting, horsemanship and games are organized.
