Opened in 2006, Grape Discovery Center is set in the Lake Erie Concord Grape Belt. This visitor’s center was established to educate visitors about the grape industry in the area. Visit the Tasting Bar near the Concord vineyard and explore a variety of wines that they have to offer. In addition to wines, visitors can also taste a selection of cheeses, cured meats and grape juices. Built in the year 1829, Barcelona Lighthouse is 40 feet (12 meters) tall. This lighthouse offers unobstructed views of the scenic Lake Erie and the bustling Barcelona Harbor. Made of fieldstone, this lighthouse features a cone-shaped roof and a cottage that was used by the lighthouse’s keeper. It is currently owned and managed by New York State Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation. In 1972, this old lighthouse was listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

McClurg decided to build a more elegant home for his family, rather than a log home like most other settlers lived in. After the last of his descendants died, the home was left to the village to be used as a public building. It was put on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. Displays on three floors pertain to the development of Chautauqua County and feature art, antiques, dolls and more, including an exhibit on Chautauqua County’s connection to president Abraham Lincoln. - Christine A. Initiated few years back by Douglas Fairbanks and his wife Linda Fairbanks, Fairbanks Maple, today, produces 1200 to 1400 gallons of maple syrups each year. This makes it one of the largest producers of maple syrup in this part of New York. The house where the production of the syrup takes place is located by the Shaw road of the small town Forestville where you can stopover and could get to know about the procedure involved in its production. The Fairbanks Maple is also part of the Maple Weekends festival with open participation for public, and offers horse rides and other entertaining activities.
