For bowling fans, there's no place like Northrock Lanes in the entire state. This is the largest bowling facility in Kansas, so there's plenty of space to enjoy a game, join a league, or host a party. There's a pro shop onsite so you can get outfitted to bowl your best. Kids and adults alike can enjoy the arcade and snack on something from the menu. Upstairs, the banquet hall has a capacity of 200, perfect for a huge party!
Located inside the Kansas Star Casino, the Arena is a stunning venue boasting of a capacity of over 3000 spectators. The venue is one of the most popular of its kind in the city and it has played host to a number of events including Miss Kansas USA, sports events like MMA and Bull Riding and many more. Daughtry was the first ever band to play at the Arena - Kansas Star Casino.
This Kansas landmark was established in 1910 by Dr. Walter Bartlett and is spread across 15 acres (6.07 hectares) of private land consisting of gigantic oaks, cypress and Japanese maples among other majestic trees. Now run by Robin Lynn Macy, former Dixie Chick member and founder, Bartlett Arboretum is open only during concerts, weddings and by appointments. You will also find many flowering trees and plants which makes this place even more endearing. Hosting country music festivals and shows, some of the artists who have performed here are Jimmy LaFave and Vanessa Whalen.
Housed in the iconic Carnegie Library, the Harvey County Historical Museum is located in the heart of Newton, Kansas. Displaying the local history, the county’s culture and heritage, the museum has an extensive collection of artifacts and displays. With both, permanent and temporary exhibits, the museum has preserved over 5000 images from the 19th Century. The facility also organizes various events and programs every now and then. You can also explore the archive library for research and pick up souvenirs from the museum gift shop.
