Opened in 1998, the Deutsches Marinemuseum in Wilhelmshaven is a private museum that narrates the evolution of German military shipping since 1848. The museum focuses on the German navy and has three kinds of exhibitions. The Permanent exhibition here has ship models, uniforms, bridge equipment and paintings, ship bells and many more. Special exhibitions revolve around the history of the First World War and the outdoor area displays torpedoes, mines and guns.

Ev.-luth. St.-Nicolai-Kirche is a historic Lutheran house of worship in Wittmund. Occupying a prominent spot on Am Kirchplatz, it was probably built in the year 1775, while the consecration took place in the year 1776. A fine example of Baroque architectural style, it features a red-brick facade and arched windows, among other architectural highlights. The tapering gabled ceiling is also overlaid with red tiles. Its imposing tower is seen with a Baroque vault while the two magnificent chandeliers date back to the 17th Century. It serves as an active venue for a host of classical music concerts.
