"Stunning Baroque Palace"
Located in the central district of Wrocław, the royal palace is one of the most impressive architecture landmarks of the city with its fine Baroque and Rococo elements. Constructed in 1717, it served as the residential home of various chancellors, kings and military commanders before being converted into a fine arts museum in 1926. It has undergone several reconstructions throughout the ages with the most notable one carried out post World War II during which it was severely damaged. Today it arguably the most important cultural center of the city and houses the museums of history, bourgeois art, archaeology, military, medallic art and cemetery art along with hosting a number of contemporary art exhibitions. It might take an entire day to see all of the museum's exhibits, but be sure to check out the majestic Baroque gardens located behind the building. If you love art, history and culture, this museum should be a must visit attraction on your tourist list.
