Huaqing Hot Springs

"Imperial Hot Springs"

An intricately connected network of hot springs, the Huaqing Pool is situated on the verdant foothills of Mount Li, which makes up a third of the majestic Qin Mountains. The hot springs are closest to Xi'an, a town that falls under the Shaanxi province of China. These engineering marvels were commissioned by Emperor Xuanzong from the Tang dynasty in the year 723 and were wished to be a part of the Huaqing Palace. The springs obtain their heat from geothermal properties that lay embedded within the earth. The ponds of Guifei, Lianhua and Lady Yang are three of the complex's most popular springs.
