"Residential French"
High style service and upscale French food characterize this elegant restaurant. The pumpkin mousse is La Banlieu's signature appetizer, served in a minuscule dish with a tiny spoon. Next look for Japanese daikon (long white radish) which might be incorporated into a foie gras salad for an appetizer. This would be followed by a bit of fish, then roast duck or lamb, and two portions of homemade desserts. Located in a three-floor house right on Honmoku-dori in the midst of a residential area is this dining oasis. The first floor is a plush reception area, the second floor has a capacity of 18 and the third floor seats a total of 30, but the best seats are in the conservatory area. Note the dinner plates from Masuda Art, a well-known Yokohama chinaware store.
