"Sightseeing Coffee Stop"
Just across the road from Kencho-ji Temple is Binya Coffee, a welcome resting spot after walking through the temple grounds. The Japanese style coffee shop has a small water feature and tall bamboo growing outside, while inside you'll find dark wood furniture, latticework screens and some grassy plants. There is a long counter, decorated with a huge variety of cups and saucers, and tables for groups. The menu offers a number of different coffee and tea drinks, as well as a small number of dishes such as stewed beef, stewed chicken, soup and cakes. The coffee is served with chocolate-coated coffee beans. It is closed on Tuesdays. -AH
