The Darajani Market

A visit to this market is an experience of vivid colors, shapes and eclectic wares. It is to experience fragments of the daily lives of the people of Zanzibar as you hear and glimpse snatches of barter and excited exchanges walking amid the hustle and bustle. The hall, built in 1904 in order to move the old market from its location at that time in the Arab fort, is filled with little stalls.
