Teuscher Chocolates of Switzerland

This flagship Teuscher shop is a chocolate lover's paradise, loaded with an unbelievable range of treats that are likely to throw any recovered chocoholic back into relapse. You will be spoiled for choice, and whatever you decide, it will be a victory for you. The shop, which is housed in a structure that was constructed in 1647, provides you with delicious confections made from the best chocolate, fruits, marzipan, and other ingredients. This shop, which makes the greatest champagne truffles in the whole world, is also well known for its decadent chocolate bars, cookies, and pralines. The sugar-free chocolate bars and fructose pralines ensure that these delicacies can be enjoyed by all.

Limmatquai

Running parallel to the Limmat River, Limmatquai is a sunny street within walking distance of Zurich's main train station. It offers a mix of high-end and budget clothing and shoe stores, some of which are sheltered by shady arcades. In addition to numerous shops and Cafés, Limmatquai is also home to several beautiful guild houses as well as the city hall. From here there is a good view of Grossmünster and Fraumünster, two of Zurich's most famous churches. When the weather is fine, street musicians entertain the happy listeners who gather on the benches along the river.

Globus

Globus is one of the city's leading departmental stores. Its elegant green marble floor, the many glass display cases and the large rooms on the ground floor give it an upmarket, but relaxed atmosphere. The store has five floors and you can literally shop till you drop. Whatever you're after, be it perfume, cosmetics, stationery, household goods, toys, sports attire, women's clothing, jewelry, watches or leather goods, you will find it here at Globus. All floors can be reached via an escalator or an elevator. The “Gourmessa” department on the lower ground floor is worth visiting. The food here is first-rate and many goods on sale can't be found elsewhere in the city. Spacious parking facilities are also available, but at a rather pricey rate.

Bahnhofstrasse

Bahnhofstrasse in Zurich, which has been dubbed one of the most expensive shopping avenues in the world, can easily compete with its counterparts in New York, Hong Kong, Paris, and London. Blue-and-white trams whisk shoppers along this mile-long and mainly car-free stretch between the main train station and the lake. Bahnhofstrasse is where the affluent shop for designer clothing and gold watches. However, it also finds a fair share of the general populace, all in awe of the shopping extravaganza. A little park separates Bahnhofstrasse from the elegant department stores Jelmoli and Globus, all of which are worth a visit. Numerous restaurants and cafes feature outdoor seating, ideal for observing fellow shoppers.

Sihlcity

What used to be a paper mill close to the River Sihl has now been transformed into one of Switzerland's most popular shopping and entertainment centers - Sihlcity. This Wiedikon district attraction, which opened in 2007, covers everything you could need for a fun day out. Featuring amazing stores like Espirit and Swarovski, the center includes a vast array of restaurants and bars, not to mention a multiplex (Arena Cinemas) and a fitness and wellness center (Migros fitness park). The park exudes a warm holiday spirit during Christmas and you will find enchanting elements placed throughout the shopping center.
