Wijthmenerplas

A gorgeous lake that reaches to a maximum death of 19 meters (62 feet), the Wijthmenerplas is a popular spot with both locals and tourists alike. Created accidentally in the 1970s due to extensive sand extraction in the area, the lake sees visitors indulging in a number of activities like swimming and sunbathing. Diving and fishing in the lake as well as hiking around the lake are also some of the other activities that are possible here. For children, there are also separate buoys that have shallow water. Since 2015, wakeboarding and waterskiing have also been taking place here.
